Syndactyly is the condition in which two or more fingers are joined or fused together.
Types of Syndactyly
1. Simple Syndactyly: condition in which extremities are fused by soft tissues.
2. Complex Syndactyly: condition in which bones of fingers are joined.
3. Complete or Incomplete: skin is joined all through and through, however in incomplete finger tips are free
4. Fenestrated Syndactyly: when there is a gap between skin is know as fenestrated syndactyly

Down Syndrome is also known as trisomy 21, it takes place due to extra chromosome is present in 21 st chromosome, due to some genetic anomaly, recently on 25th November child came to Dr RML Hospital New Delhi in Psychiatric OPD, he was suffering from down syndrome, as well as from Angular Stomatitis, see pics below, pay more emphasis on more space between first toe and second toe of foots, also see wide space between both of nipples, however crease of hands were normal, he also showed history of heart diseases.

Below is an adult male suffering from down syndrome, characterized by webbed neck, mangolian facies, low set of ears, and ear lobe attached to cheek, patient came to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi.

Failure to Thrive means a child whose rate of weight gain is sluggish, there may or may not be any effect on height, the weight is less than 3rd percentile.
There are 2 factors leading to failure to thrive,
1. Extrinsic factors like, social and environmental factors, and inadequate intake of nutrition.
2. Intrinsic factors like, metabolic causes, excessive vomiting, malabsorption syndromes, chronic diseases.
Clinical features: child may show wide gaze expression or may be expressionless, may not respond to social stimuli, may not show cuddling, sucks thumb, vocalisation is delayed.
