Drooping Of The Upper Eyelid

Drooping of upper eyelids is also known as blepharotosis. Ptosis can be due to many causes like weakness of muscles, traumatic causes, after surgery, due to tumor in eyelids (mechanical causes), neurogenic causes, it can be due to neurotoxin or old age.

Surgical remedy is by Frontalis sling operation, Levator resection, or by muller muscle resection. If you do not want to go for surgery you can wear special contact lenses which are made to support upper eye lid or use of crutch glasses.

Below in the video is a patient of bilateral drooping of upper eyelid, here the cause was traumatic, this patient was beaten by her mother on her face and eyes after that she developed bilateral ptosis, according to the history given by patient.
