Skin tags are also known as acrochordon, most commonly present in flexors. Skin tags are usually pedunculated, sometimes flat, but are skin coloured, firm in consistency. Usually they should not increase in size or number, but may occur so in genetically susceptible persons. Skin tags are beningn in nature. Below is the photograph of skin tags which occured on my neck region, you can see close view too.
Treatment of skin tags
Treatment of skin tags include diathermy i.e electrocautry, chemical cautry with trichloroacetic acid, cryosurgery. You can see my neck lesions after electrocautry, i made it done without local anaesthesia.
Home treatment of skin tags is that you can cut them with sterilized blade, apply ice before doing so this will reduce bleeding and pain. Another way to treat is to tie a knot with sterilized thread or sterilized horse hair this will cut off blood supply to it and with in 2 days it will fall off.
