Keloid Formed After Surgery

keloids are usually firm rubbery lesions which are shiny in colour and usually formed in healed skin lesion, patient have itchines all over around it, when excised they reoccur. Initially they are formed of collagen tissue type 3 which is later on replaced by type 1.

Treatment includes giving injection of steroids, silicone gel sheeting, cryosurgery and radiotherapy are found to be quite effective.
