Schamroth’s Window Test in Clubbing

In a normal fingers when two fingers are approximated to each other by touching nails and distal interphalangeal joint, you will see a diamond shaped area is seen at proximal nail fold, this diamond shaped space is lost in clubbed nails, compare both photographs given below one is normally showing diamond shaped space, and other one is have clubbed nails in which no space is there which is known as positive Schamroth’s sign or positive Schamroth’s window test.
