Is it safe to have sex during pregnancy?
Yes its very safe since she is not going to get pregnant again during this time, even you need not to use contraceptives and enjoy full pleasure, but contraceptives must be used if you are suffering from STDs. Safe period is after first trimester (first 12 weeks) up to last three weeks of pregnancy.
During first trimester there are the chances of getting miscarriages or abortions, when female reaches orgasm, uterus contracts violently so miscarriages can occur and we do not want girl to have orgasm during this time, so avoid sex during first trimester.
During last three weeks of pregnancy, it may cause premature rupture of membrane. And you should not do it when you have history of previous miscarriages, low lying placenta or mouth of uterus is very short (Incompitent cervis), or if you are having bleeding or suffering from STDs.
In some women the sexual drive may increase or decrease, if dryness in vagina increases some gel can be used.
