Vaginal Cysts Symptoms, Types, Causes and Treatment

Vaginal cysts are very uncommon, but commonly present at anterior

vaginal wall.

Cysts are divided into 3 types-

1. Gartner’s cysts - lie at anterolateral aspect of vagina and develop from remnants of mesonephric ducts.

2. Inclusion cysts- which are present at lower part of vagina, lie on posterior surface, caused by mucosal tags getting embeded inside scars converting later into cysts.

3 . Endometriotic cyst which appears bluish in posterior fornix. Patient with small cysts are asymptomatic, however with big ones feels pain during copulation with partner.

The size of large cysts vary from 7-8 cm, finally the treatment is excision of cyst.
